Five new accessories specifically designed for the desktop replacement market!
Hong Kong, (January 1, 2005) – Targus Asia Pacific have announced
a complete range of accessories specifically designed for the growing
number of consumers that are buying portable PC’s to replace
their desktop PC. The range includes five products designed to help
you achieve the most from your desktop replacement PC and include
a desktop sized mouse; two hubs and two cool pads.

Targus Desktop Replacement Accessories
Mice are the number one selling accessory for notebook computers
following cases. Consumers buying a portable PC’s to replace
their desktop PC’s will be used to a larger form factor mouse
and do not feel as comfortable with the mouse pad or mouse button.
The Targus Wireless Notebook Mouse physical size perfectly fits
into the desktop replacement category. The thumb-size USB receiver
with 90-degree swivel provides great flexibility in limited workspace.
The mouse includes power management features and also incorporates
the latest optical technology for greater accuracy and ease of use.

Hardware manufacturers are eager to achieve greater cost efficiencies
and deliver an improved overall computing experience; as a result
many interfaces such as multiple ports are being removed. The Targus
desktop hubs were designed to accommodate the increased demand for

printers, scanners and cameras. IDC forecasts that serial and parallel
port attach rates will fall significantly and be replaced by the
faster more user friendly USB technology specifically USB 2.0. The

drivers are needed.

2.0 hub offers one multi-function device meaning less to carry and
less clutter!
As the size of PC’s has decreased, but power capabilities
increased, a larger amount of heat is dissipated from the PC which
can shorten the life of internal components and circuitry and cause
crashes. Notebooks can also overheat to the point where they are
uncomfortable to rest on the lap and can damage furniture. The Targus
Podium Coolpad addresses this problem and has been designed to keep
your notebook cool and efficient.

The Targus Ergo Active Cooler Hub Combo offers the same heat dissipating
function but uses a two-fan cooling system to silently draw heat
from the notebook and prevent the CPU from overheating during use.
By circulating and dissipating heat under the notebook, the Cooler
Hub Combo eliminates the need for the notebook to activate its louder
and power-consumptive internal fans and improves overall system
performance. The Cooler Hub Combo also incorporates 4 x 2.0 USB
ports so you can connect your multiple peripherals at the same time!
